About H1B Scout

H1B Scout is a free, independent tool for exploring H1B visa sponsorship data from official U.S. government sources. We help job seekers, researchers, and immigration professionals make sense of the H1B labor market.

What We Do

H1B Scout aggregates and presents Labor Condition Application (LCA) data published by the U.S. Department of Labor. Every H1B employer is required by law to file an LCA before petitioning for a worker's visa — making this one of the most comprehensive public datasets on skilled immigration in the United States.

Our database covers fiscal years 2020 through 2025, with over 800,000 LCA filings across 80,000+ employers and 800+ job categories. We update data annually as new DOL disclosure files are released.

Data Sources & Methodology

All data comes directly from the U.S. Department of Labor's Foreign Labor Certification Performance Data disclosure files, which are published in the public domain.

  • We include H-1B, H-1B1 (Chile/Singapore), and E-3 (Australian) visa classes
  • Salary figures are the prevailing wage as reported on the LCA — actual offered wages may differ
  • Approval rates reflect LCA certification status, not final USCIS petition outcomes
  • We apply sanity filters to exclude records with clearly erroneous salary values (below $15,000 or above $2,000,000 annually)
  • Job title standardization uses the DOL Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system

We do not modify, supplement, or editorialize the underlying DOL data. All figures are computed directly from the raw disclosure files.
